We could not do this without you!
Networking Leaders are an important part of Shift Summit. Networking sessions allow for participants to meet with familiar faces on both days.
This helps those with social anxieties and creates a safe space for members of traditionally underserved communities.
Please be prepared to:
lead lunch on day 1
run a problem-solving roundtable on day 1
lead lunch on day 2
Be ready to get to know your networking group. Understand what they are wanting to get out of Shift and help them if you can.
Please let Sara know if any issues arise regarding your participation at Shift Summit.
NOTE: Groups were assigned by topics that attendees chose upon registration. This allows group members to have something in common, but does NOT need to be the focus of your conversations.

Lunch Day 1
Use this time to get to know each person.
Introduce yourself
Have each person introduce themselves
Ask an icebreaker question
Describe your life in three words
What is your superpower?
Why are you here?
What is the main thing you want to get out of Shift Gathering?
Use this hour to relax and get to know each other
As you wrap up, remind everyone to have a succinct problem for the problem solving session (they will only have one minute to lay out their problem - they should write it down before the session begins)
-
Problem-Solving Roundtable
This hour is to help give tangible next steps to problems attendees are facing.
Start by letting everyone know how the hour will go
Each person will have 1-2 minutes to layout their problem
Then the group will give suggested solutions and ideas for 3-5 minutes (depending on your group size)
Ask someone to be the clock watcher
Hold to the clock, so no single person dominates the hour
Make sure everyone gets the spotlight
AND make sure everyone gets a chance to speak to every problem
-
Lunch Day 2
This hour is to reinforce connections.
Welcome everyone back and let them know this hour is an hour to identify needs.
Have each person name ONE thing they need to move forward
“I’m looking for a ghost writer”
“I need to hire an executive assistant”
“I need to ask for a raise but I’m not sure where to start”
The group should offer names, introductions, suggestions on where to find solutions.
This is the last time the group will meet. As you wrap up, thank everyone for participating.
